Frequently Asked Questions

When is payment due?

Payment is due at the time of service. This includes any applicable copays, deductibles, coinsurance amounts, self-pay fees, and other client-responsible charges.

Why do I need a card on file?

Pellicer Counseling requires a valid credit or debit card to remain on file for all clients. This allows us to securely process copays, deductibles, coinsurance, self-pay fees, missed appointment fees, late cancellation fees, and other approved charges.

What if my card is declined?

If a payment method on file is declined, our office will make reasonable efforts to contact you and obtain updated payment information. Outstanding balances may need to be resolved before future appointments can be scheduled.

Will you bill my insurance for me?

If we are in-network with your insurance plan, we will submit claims on your behalf as a courtesy. While we make every effort to verify benefits, insurance companies make the final determination regarding coverage and payment.

Will you bill my out-of-network insurance plan?

No. Pellicer Counseling does not submit claims to out-of-network insurance providers. Clients choosing to use out-of-network benefits are responsible for payment at the time of service. Upon request, we are happy to provide a superbill that you may submit directly to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. Please note that reimbursement is not guaranteed and is determined by your individual insurance plan and benefits.

Am I responsible for charges not covered by insurance?

Yes. Clients are responsible for any deductibles, copays, coinsurance amounts, denied claims, or non-covered services as determined by their insurance plan.

What if my insurance information changes?

Please notify our office as soon as possible if your insurance coverage changes. Failure to provide updated insurance information may result in claims being denied and balances becoming the client’s responsibility.

What if I have a question about my bill?

We encourage clients to contact our office with any questions regarding statements, balances, insurance payments, or billing concerns. Our team is happy to help explain charges and review your account.

Do you offer payment plans?

Please contact our office if you have questions regarding an outstanding balance
