Patrick believes meaningful change happens both inside and outside of the therapy room. His approach to counseling is collaborative and action-oriented, encouraging clients to actively engage in the therapeutic process by practicing agreed-upon skills and strategies between sessions. He views even the smallest positive changes as powerful opportunities for growth, believing that consistent progress over time can build momentum and help clients create the life they truly want for themselves. At the core of his work is a deep belief in the ability of therapy to foster healing and recovery for anyone willing to engage in the process.
His clinical approach is integrative, drawing from a variety of therapeutic disciplines to best meet the individual needs of each client. He is most comfortable working from EMDR and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) frameworks and has completed formal CPT certification. He also incorporates aspects of Psychodynamic and Gestalt therapy when appropriate. In addition, he has extensive knowledge of mutual help and recovery communities and maintains connections with inpatient and detox providers for individuals seeking substance use treatment support.
What most shapes his work as a therapist is the belief that genuine human connection matters. Having personally experienced therapy himself, he understands how important it is to feel truly seen, cared for, and invested in by your therapist. That experience continues to guide the way he shows up for his clients every day. While there may be clinicians with more years of experience, he prides himself on the level of compassion, dedication, and heart he brings into the therapy space. His commitment is simple: to give every client his very best.
